Sahasrara, the crown chakra, is traditionally placed at the very top of the head and associated with violet and pure white light. Rather than being assigned one of the material elements, it is described in traditional teachings as belonging to consciousness itself, the point where the individual is said to open into something wider. It is linked with meaning, devotion, and quiet. The stones associated with it tend to be pale, clear, or luminous, and people usually work with them slowly, in silence, at the beginning or end of a day.
