Collection: Citrine

Citrine is one of the most misunderstood stones in the trade, and we would rather tell you the truth than sell you a story. What you find here is described plainly, whether it is scarce natural citrine or the heat-treated amethyst that makes up most of the deep orange material on the market. Each piece is picked by hand for color, clarity and presence.

What Citrine Is

Citrine is the yellow to golden-brown variety of quartz, silicon dioxide, at 7 on the Mohs scale, with color arising from trace iron in the crystal structure. Genuinely natural citrine is uncommon. It tends toward pale lemon, warm honey or smoky gold, often with even color throughout, and comes from places such as Brazil, Zambia, Madagascar and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The vivid orange points and clusters with milky white bases that fill most shops are almost always amethyst that has been heated, usually Brazilian material, which shifts the violet to a saturated orange-brown. Heating is a legitimate and very old practice, and heated material is still real quartz. It simply is not the same thing as natural citrine, and it should never be priced or labeled as if it were.

Citrine Meaning and Metaphysical Properties

Citrine is traditionally associated with the solar plexus chakra, the seat of personal will and confidence in many crystal traditions. It has long been described as a stone of warmth, creative momentum and generosity, and it carries an old reputation as a merchant stone kept near a till or ledger.

Many people work with citrine when beginning something, a new venture, a new season, a project that has been sitting too long. It is said to encourage a sunny, forward-leaning outlook and a willingness to be seen.

How to Use Citrine

  • Keep a small tumbled piece or point in a wallet, register or workspace drawer, following the old merchant custom.
  • Rest a palm stone over the solar plexus during quiet reflection or breath practice.
  • Build a grid with citrine at the center when the intention involves creative work or a new beginning.
  • Pair it with pyrite for a bolder, more decisive feel, or with clear quartz to keep an intention crisp.

Our citrine collection at Healing Stone Beings spans raw points, clusters, polished towers and carvings, with natural and heat-treated material identified so you can choose knowingly. Browse at your own pace, and reach out if you would like more detail on a particular specimen.
