Collection: Amazonite

Amazonite carries a particular green, somewhere between sea glass and new leaves, often streaked with white where a second feldspar has grown through it. It is a color that photographs poorly and reads beautifully in person, which is one reason we insist on selecting every piece by hand rather than by catalog image.

What Amazonite Is

Amazonite is the green to blue-green variety of microcline, a potassium feldspar in the alkali feldspar group. Its hardness sits around 6 to 6.5, and like other feldspars it has two directions of good cleavage meeting at close to right angles, so it can chip if knocked hard. The cause of its color was debated for a long time and is now generally attributed to trace lead in the structure together with the effects of natural radiation. Many specimens show pale streaks and a grid-like sheen from intergrown albite. Notable localities include the Pikes Peak region of Colorado, where it famously occurs alongside smokey quartz, along with Brazil, Madagascar, Ethiopia, and the Ilmen Mountains of Russia. Despite the name, no confirmed deposit has been documented on the Amazon River itself.

Amazonite Meaning and Metaphysical Properties

Amazonite is traditionally associated with both the heart and throat chakras, and is often called a stone of truth and of courage. Many people work with it when something needs to be said clearly and without heat, keeping it nearby before a difficult conversation or while writing something that matters.

It is also traditionally linked to healthy boundaries and to filtering out noise, whether that noise is other people's opinions or the background hum of too much information. In practice, people tend to describe amazonite less as an energizing stone and more as a settling one, a way of arriving at what they actually think.

How to Use Amazonite

  • Carry a small piece on days that hold a conversation you have been putting off.
  • Keep a specimen near your phone, desk, or wherever you do most of your communicating.
  • Pair it with aquamarine, blue lace agate, or clear quartz in a grid focused on honest speech.
  • Store it out of prolonged direct sunlight, since amazonite's color can fade with long exposure.

You will find hand-selected amazonite at Healing Stone Beings in raw chunks, polished forms, and occasional crystallized specimens showing the mineral's blocky feldspar habit. Colors vary genuinely from piece to piece, from pale mint to deep blue-green. Browse the collection and pick the tone that feels like yours.
