Collection: Sacral Chakra
Here you will find stones traditionally associated with creativity, pleasure, and emotional movement. People often come to this collection when they feel creatively stuck, when joy has gone a little quiet, or when they simply want to reconnect with what moves them.
What the sacral chakra is traditionally associated with
Called Svadhisthana in Sanskrit, the sacral chakra is traditionally located below the navel, in the lower belly and pelvis. It is associated with the color orange and the water element, and traditional teachings connect it with sensation, appetite, creative impulse, and the capacity to feel things fully. Water is the operative image: this is described as the center where energy is meant to move rather than pool.
Stones traditionally used for sacral chakra work
Carnelian is the classic choice, long associated with creative courage and warmth. Orange calcite is worked with for a sense of lightness and play. Sunstone carries a bright, generous quality many people turn to when enthusiasm feels thin. Moonstone is traditionally linked with intuition and the rhythm of emotional cycles. Tiger's eye is used for confident, embodied action. Peach moonstone is favored for gentle self-acceptance, and amber, warm and ancient, appears in folk tradition as a stone of vitality and good humor.
How to work with them
- Keep carnelian or sunstone on the desk, easel, or workbench where you actually make things.
- Rest a smooth stone on the lower belly during a few minutes of slow, unhurried breathing.
- Carry a small piece on days set aside for rest, pleasure, or unstructured time.
- Choose one stone to work with for a full month rather than rotating through many at once.
The specimens gathered here at Healing Stone Beings are hand-selected, frequently one of a kind, and sourced directly from miners and collectors we have known for years. Browse slowly and see which color pulls at you.
